Address: 130 King St W, Toronto, ON M5X 2A2, Canada
A glamorous downtown steakhouse built for celebrations — where premium dry-aged beef, a Himalayan salt locker and a serious sushi bar share one grand room.
The story
Black+Blue is Glowbal Restaurant Group’s Toronto flagship, the eastern outpost of a Vancouver name known for maximalist steakhouses. Founder Emad Yacoub’s long-held idea — great steak and great sushi under a single roof — anchors the menu, and the group chose one of the city’s most storied addresses to make the point.
What to order
The beef leads: A5 Japanese Miyazaki wagyu, certified Kobe, and dry-aged cuts matured 28 to 45 days in an on-site salt locker. From the raw bar, the tiered seafood tower and fresh nigiri are the natural openers. For the table, the hand-tossed Caesar for two and a Beef Wellington carved tableside turn a meal into an event, with crêpes Suzette to finish.
The Space
Housed in the old Toronto Stock Exchange, the two-storey room keeps its banking-hall proportions — soaring ceilings, warm lighting, pale wood — then layers on drama: a ceiling gilded in 24-karat gold and a mural of two bulls composed entirely of steak knives. Downstairs, a wraparound bar doubles as the sushi station; upstairs, red velvet booths and a floor-to-ceiling wine room.
Who it’s for
For milestone dinners, business entertaining and anyone who wants their steakhouse with real grandeur and a glass of something serious.
Questions and answers
Should I book ahead? Yes — it’s a destination room for celebrations and corporate dinners, so weekends and prime evening slots go fast; reserve in advance for the best tables.
Are there options beyond steak? Yes — the raw bar and sushi menu run deep, from nigiri and sashimi to the seafood tower, alongside salads and sides for pescatarians and lighter appetites.
What’s the must-try dish? A dry-aged or Miyazaki wagyu steak is the headline; pair it with the tableside Caesar and a few pieces of nigiri for the full range.
Is it suited to private events and big tables? Very — with tableside carving, curated group menus and a glass wine room, it handles celebrations and business dinners with ease.
Can we sit outside? Yes — the enclosed, heated patio with a retractable roof means comfortable outdoor seating in any season.
